Programme

In the early years the majority of the bands engagements involved marching. Over time the band have moved mainly towards sit down recitals, with the exception of leading the annual St Patricks day parade in Carrickmacross. In line with this the bands programme has become much more varied and modern.

A typical programme will still include one or two marches such as old favourites High Society, The Villager, Blaze Away or Slaidburn. We also have an extensive choice of Irish tunes like Galway Bay, How Can You Buy Killarney, Isle if Innisfree, The Wests Awake, The Rustic Bridge and Dear old Donegal.

Music to suit all tastes includes The Best of the Seekers, Amarillo, Tie a Yellow Ribbon, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Hey Look Me Over, Love Changes Everything, The Beer Barrel Polka, Everybody Needs Somebody, The Wild Wild West, Salute To Sullivan, Viennese Nights and many, many more.

We also have an extensive selection of church music and Christmas tunes, modern and traditional, to choose from.

Music is the universal language of mankind. - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Outre-Mer
